Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Depending on whether you join as a recruiter or a candidate, we collect:

• Account details: name, email address, phone number, and (for recruiters) company name.
• Identity verification: a government-issued ID image and a live selfie, processed through our verification partner, Stripe Identity.
• Profile information you choose to add: certifications (including through Credly if you link it), education, job titles, job preferences, work areas, resume, and video introductions.
• Messages and email: messages you send and receive in PreCheckd, mail sent to or from your PreCheckd email address, and connection-request notes. Attachments are kept by file name and size only, apart from files you attach to a message you send.
• Application tracker entries: job applications you record, or that we suggest from your PreCheckd mail and you confirm.
• Skills assessments: if you take a skills or job title test, we store your results: the skill levels or scores, which questions were answered right or wrong (not the question text or your answers), when you took it, and any integrity flags from our test provider, such as suspected cheating or AI use. Your name and email are not sent to the test provider.
• Usage data: basic site analytics, such as pages visited, and counts of profile views (which show totals, not who viewed).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Verify your identity, phone number, company affiliation, and credentials
• Create and display your profile, with candidate details shown to recruiters only as you allow
• Deliver messages and email, show you your application tracker, and send reminders and weekly summaries (which you can turn off)
• Send you verification codes and important account communications
• Score your skills assessments, show results to recruiters only as you allow (or as you agreed when you accepted a recruiter's test request), and review flagged attempts to keep results trustworthy
• Detect and prevent spam, scams, and abuse, and maintain the security and integrity of the platform

3. Messages Are Stored and Automatically Scanned

Messages and email sent or received through PreCheckd are stored on our systems so you can read and reply to them. We automatically scan messages, links, and attachments to detect spam, scams, malware, and prohibited content. Scanning is performed by automated systems. Our staff may read a message only when it is reported or flagged, or when needed to keep the platform safe or comply with the law. Messages you delete are permanently removed after a short holding period (about 30 days). Mail from unknown senders may be held or marked as suspicious.

If you write to someone who is not a PreCheckd member, your message is delivered to them by email, identifies you as a PreCheckd member, and includes a way for them to opt out or report it.

4. Data We Do Not Sell

We never sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Your email address and phone number are not shown on your profile. Contact details are shared with another member only after you connect and choose to share them. Recruiters see candidates in anonymized form until a candidate accepts a connection. We do not publish an employer or school name on a public verification page.

5. SMS Communications

By providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS verification messages from PreCheckd, powered by AWS Notify. AWS does not share your phone number with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Text HELP for help, or STOP to cancel. 6. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party providers strictly to operate our service:

• Stripe — government ID and facial verification (Stripe Identity) and payments
• AWS (Amazon Web Services) — SMS verification code delivery and file storage
• MongoDB Atlas — secure database hosting
• Resend — sending and receiving email
• Render — application hosting
• CoderByte — runs our skills assessments. It receives an anonymous ID we generate for each test, not your name or email, and returns your results to us
• Credly — certification lookup, only if you link your Credly account
• Google Analytics — site usage statistics

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their specific function and are contractually bound to protect your data.

7. Data Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information from unauthorized access.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active on PreCheckd. Deleted messages and expired notifications are removed automatically after a short period. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us. We may keep limited records where needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons, such as a do-not-contact list.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at privacy@precheckd.com. You can turn off weekly emails in your profile settings, stop outreach from a specific sender, and choose whether your public verification page is shown.

10. Children

PreCheckd is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.
